NO TRIP TO
L.A. On June 9, 1994 ABC Nightly News reported on a sting operation by the San Jose California police department. In order to arrest wanted criminals, the police posed as benefactors. They offered these wanted criminals a free trip to Los Angeles with all the benefits of a first-class tour. After one of the criminals was arrested, he asked the police: “Does this mean I’m not going to L.A.?” He got a trip all right, but it was not to L.A. The promises of this world are the same. Many will be disappointed at the time of judgment. They won’t get the trip they were promised.Adapted by Michael Hodgin from the ABC Nightly News, June 9, 1994
