An enterprising office worker would leave work each day pushing a wheelbarrow full of sand. The guard at the gate knew that he was stealing something, so he would check through the sand thoroughly. He found nothing, so he had to let the employee pass.
Then the guard got a rake and when the man came by he raked through the wheelbarrow of sand and still found nothing.
The guard got a sieve. He sifted through the sand and found nothing.
Finally, when he was nearing his retirement, the guard spoke to the employee. He said, “Look, I know you’ve been smuggling something out of the company, but I just can’t figure out what it is. I’ve never been able to find anything in that sand. Do me one favor before I retire, just tell me what you’ve been sneaking past me.”
The man said, “Sure I’ll tell you. I’m stealing wheelbarrows.”
