POWER LOSS
Living just outside of town has its drawbacks. For me it was having to take my garbage to the area dumpster. It was the summer of my first pastorate. I found myself dropping off two bags of garbage on the hottest day of the year. The heat was terrific, so the reek of the garbage was awful, and the flies were almost dangerous. I turned off the engine, got the garbage from the trunk and, still holding my breath as much as possible, deposited the bags in the overflowing containers. Hurrying to the car, I was perturbed when it wouldn’t start. I was anxious next; then, when I realized it wasn’t about to go at all, I was crushed in spirit.
