I grew exasperated as the letter I was typing became blotched and untidy. Every time I hit the capital letter “I” either it would not print at all or it came out so dim that it was hardly discernible. I kept writing in ink over the missing or pale letter until the page grew more and more sloppy. At last I phoned my friend at the typewriter shop. “Can you tell me what is wrong?” I asked. “All the letters on my typewriter imprint fine except the capital ‘I’.
