NO CUT CONTRACT
Whether you are a sports nut or a sports not, I’d like to present you with the outrageous case of Danny Manning. Danny is a fine young man with two bum knees and a sweet jump shot. Last year he took a steep cut in pay, earning only one million dollars to play basketball with the Phoenix Suns. Half way through the season a knee exploded, and he sat out the last forty-six regular season games. He still collected the full one million dollars. Even though he won’t be fully recovered and able to play until January, the Suns recently signed him to a six year, forty million dollar, no cut contract. Danny Manning may never play another game in his life. Even if he is never able to take another shot, the Phoenix Suns cannot cut him from the team.
