RELUCTANCE IN GIVING
Two men arrived at a small town, late one evening. After supper, they strolled forth to interview certain customers, who were usually found in their places of business until late hours, and were surprised to find all the stores closed. Their curiosity was thoroughly aroused, and seeking information from a chance passer-byer, they were told that all the people were attending a tent revival, on a near-by vacant lot. They decided to visit the revival, and arriving late, they could find seats only near the front. Just as they were seated, the evangelist arose to take the collection, and said, “I am expecting a large collection tonight, and every man that I look straight in the eye, I am expecting to give at least 10 dollars.” Just then, he looked one of the these two men squarely in the eye. He fainted and his friend carried him out.” In giving avoid being reluctant to part with what you have.
