Father | Marriage | Support

“He who gives his daughter in marriage does well, and he who does not give her in marriage will do better” (1Cor. 7:38).

A young man falls in love, goes to the beloved’s father for his blessing, and the father asks him, “What do you do? He answers, ”I go to Church every Sunday; I’m very religious”…

“But my daughter will have to be supported.” “Don’t worry. God will take care of that.”
“If you should have children, they will have many needs.” “Oh I love children. God will take care of that.”
“She’ll need a house to live in.”

Again the same answer from the young suitor: “God will take care of that.”
Later the father ’s wife asks him,

“Well, what do you think of our daughter ’s suitor?” “He seems very nice. But he thinks I’m God.”
