“Sing,” they said, “some hymns of Zion. How could we sing one of Yahweh’s hymns in a pagan country?” (Psalms 137:3-4).
There was a little “friendship” card in the gift shops which showed a picture of a beautiful robin, happily perched on a tree branch. Underneath the picture were the words: “A bird does not sing because it has an answer, but because it has a song.” If only we could learn to understand how happy we would make ourselves if we really helped our neighbor in the spirit of agape love. We would have a song! We would soon become a people with songs in our hearts, as well as on our lips.
