“Lord, when my brother wrongs me, how often must I forgive him?” (Matthew 18:21).

An Oklahoma woman tells us how she learned a lesson from her old kitchen stove on how to get rid of grudges and resentments.

In the early years of my marriage, I cooked on a “Home Comfort” range. I loved it. I could put a pot of beans on the back of this big, black, bulging stove early in the morning, and by evening they were cooked to tender perfection. At night, I would ‘bank’ the fire, holding it until morning, when a little shake of dead ashes and a stir of the poker would set it once more to a sudden blaze. It’s warmth and aroma slowly penetrated my days.

The old “Home Comfort” range was many years gone when its lesson came filtering back to comfort me. My heart was cold and heavy over what I felt was an injustice done me by one I loved. I had decided…
