“And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done” (Genesis 2:2).
A retired fellow was being kept busy around the house by his wife, who had gone on a spring-cleaning binge. He had raked and planted the garden, washed the windows and cleaned out the gutters, and he was exhausted. Feeling entitled to rest, he eased himself down on the front porch swing. His wife heard the creak of springs and called out from inside, “Harvey, are you sitting down?” And Harvey replied, “Yes, dear. But it’s all right — I’m not leaning back.”
