“My child… See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you” (Luke 2:48).
A party of schoolchildren went on a week’s camping trip. After they had settled down in their campsite, one of the counselors told the children that he was going into town and that if any of them wanted anything mailed he would take it with him. One boy said that he had promised to send his mother a postcard — but he made no attempt to write one. The counselor told him he would have to hurry. “I’ll be just a second,” the boy said. Whereupon, he poked around in his knapsack and brought out a postcard, neatly written and addressed and already stamped. With a satisfied smile, he showed it to the counselor. Written by the boy’s mother, before he left home, it read: “Dear Mom, I have arrived safely. Hope you are all right. Love, Andrew.”
A mom knows what boys are like! (And girls too!)
