Parent and Child

A little girl demanded that her father read her the same bedtime story every night. When her father tried to read from other books the child would cry and insist that he read her favorite story. After about three months of reading to her from her “Babar” book, the father decided that he would tape himself reading and then play the tape back to her at bedtime. The child listened to the taped version of the story for the first night but on the second night she handed her father the book. “Don’t you know how to turn on the tape recorder?”” the father asked. “Yes, daddy,”the little girl replied, but I can’t sit on its lap.”
