Present Moment | Contentment | Worry

“This is the day made memorable by Yahweh, what immense joy for us” (Psalms 118:24).

A little girl is trying hard to grow up fast and be a young lady. What do we say to her? We say, “Slow down, little girl. You are at a wonderful age. Enjoy it! Be satisfied to be a little girl. You will be an adult soon enough.”

A young fellow is ready to drop out of school. What do we say to him? We say, “Enjoy your school days. They are a wonderful part of your life — perhaps the happiest days of your life.”

A college student is worrying herself sick about passing examinations at the end of the semester, and graduating. What do we say to her? We say, “Examinations and graduation will come and go. You would do better to concentrate on the day-to-day learning experience and to appreciate the knowledge and the wisdom you can acquire today.”
