The best high school quarterback in the State was recruited by dozens of major universities. Although he was Jewish, the young man decided to attend the University of Notre Dame. When he returned home for his first vacation, the young man received a call from his Rabbi who had taken a dim view of his school-selection. “My boy, I certainly hope they’re not trying to Catholicize you out there at Notre Dame,” the Rabbi said anxiously. To which the young man replied indignantly, “I should say not, Father.”
