A pastor tells of a visit he once made to an old woman whom he had known for years. She was a kind and generous person who had devoted her life to the service of God and her fellow human beings. Over the years her hands had become rough and calloused from long hours of scrubbing tables and pots and pans as a volunteer worker in a shelter for the homeless.
