“…glory be to Him from generation to generation in the Church and in Jesus Christ for ever and ever– Amen” (Ephesians 3:21).
There is an old Jewish parable about a traveler who comes upon an old man planting a carob tree. “When will the tree bear fruit?” the traveler asks. “Perhaps in seventy years,” the old man replies. “Do you expect to eat of the fruit of that tree?” the traveler asks. “No,” the old man replies, “but I didn’t find the world desolate when I came into it, and as my fathers planted for me before I was born, so do I plant for those who come after me.”
