The idea of being a saint may seem to us preposterous, beyond our reach — and we settle for something far short of our true potential. Consequently, we are victims of a false modesty that tells us to “know our place”; a false modesty that tells us we are not spiritually-equipped to strive for the far-out goal of sainthood. But Jesus tells us otherwise. Jesus tells us to come to Him and discover the glory of our individual uniqueness. Jesus tells us to come to Him and discover how to become the beautifully fulfilled person we were created to be. Jesus tells us to come to Him and discover how beautiful life can be when we begin to move from what we are to what God wants us to become. Jesus tells us to come to Him and discover how to become a saint.
