A wealthy woman died and went to Heaven, where St. Peter gave her a bicycle to ride over the golden streets. Pedaling along, she saw her maid go by in a Cadillac and her gardener in a Rolls Royce. Extremely upset, she went to St. Peter and demanded to know why her maid and gardener had more luxurious transportation than she did. St. Peter explained, “the kind of transportation you are assigned in Heaven depends on the kind of life you lived on earth.”
“You surely must realize,” she replied, that I was a very important person on earth. Why I served on the Boards of five blue chip corporations.” St. Peter replied, “I’ll gladly reconsider your case, come back in two weeks.” Two weeks later she returned, saying, “Remember me, St. Peter, you gave me a bicycle while my maid and gardener are riding around in luxury.” To which Peter replied, “Indeed I do remember you.” And he handed her an old pair…
