Yesterday is a cancelled check. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is cash in the bank. Today is the day of the Risen Lord. Today is our “cash in the bank” day.

Do you hear the laughter of God rumbling through the universe? Do you hear the unseen choirs singing hosannas in exultation? Even the galaxies whirl in joyous dance. You have a standing invitation to God’s party, given to you when you first received the breath of life. Put off doubt and don a cloak of joy. And join the hosts before another day has past!1

Do you hear the laughter of God? Did you ever try to imagine what it would be like to live in a humorless world? And if a good, healthy sense of humor is a gift from God — as surely it is — are we not wrong to assume that God Himself has no sense of humor? Isn’t it downright laughable that He chose a donkey-caravan…
