A certain man had resisted driving a car until he retired at age 65. After obtaining his driver’s license, he ventured out onto a busy freeway for the first time. After he had driven a while, a highway patrolman ordered him to pull over to the shoulder. “This is an interstate highway,” said the trooper, “and you were going too slow, only 18 miles an hour.” The driver protested: “I was only obeying the law.
