Good Shepherd,

A poster of unknown origin contains some advice on how to pray under certain conditions. “CALL FOR HELP!” it says in bold letters. Then these words:

A prayer to be said
when the world has gotten
you down,
and you feel rotten,
and you’re too doggone tired
for words,
and you’re in a big hurry,
and, besides, you’re mad at everybody,
and you feel like only a miracle
can save you …
HELP!

Remember also,
Prayer is not necessarily perfected by fluency of speech.

Prayer is not necessarily perfected in profound words.

Prayer is not necessarily perfected in burning words.

Prayer is not necessarily perfected by length and breadth of petition.

Prayer is something more! It is the wish of the heart to put your whole weight on the Lord!.
