Of all the ways that God feeds us, there is one unique, supremely valuable, and incredibly nourishing way: through His presence in the living Christ. God wants us to understand that if we feed upon Jesus, our Bread, we will be nourished as in no other way. “I am the Bread of Life,” Jesus says. “He who comes to Me shall not hunger. He who believes in Me shall not thirst. I am the Living Bread which came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live.” As you identify with Christ, as you let Christ give you life — as you abide with Christ and accept Christ at the center of your being — you are being nourished in the most saving way possible. If you believe this, you will “have eternal life,” Jesus told Nicodemus. The incredibly Good News of the Gospel is that God feeds us in this way and offers us this nourishment for our salvation.
