It has been said that just as a great painting should make us think of the artist who painted it, and just as a great piece of sculpture should make us think of the sculptor who sculpted it, so too everything in this world in some way should remind us of God the Creator. And when we see God in this way, we discover that He created the world with a Divine “Sense of Humor”:
Do we not say that a person has a sense of humor if he or she can “see through things”? And do we not say that a person lacks a sense of humor if he or she cannot “see through things”?
But God made the world in such a way that we were constantly to be seeing Him through things: the Power, the Wisdom, the Beauty, and the Source of all that is. In other words, the material was to be a revelation of the spiritual. The human was…
