The late Vince Lombardi — the great football coach — was a devout Churchman and a dedicated family man. He also was a man of honesty and integrity who pursued excellence and stood for one hundred per cent effort at a time when these virtues not only were being ignored by many, but ridiculed. As some of you know, Vince Lombardi wrote a book entitled “Run To Daylight.” The book is about football and probably is of little interest unless you like football. But in it there is a chapter on “running backs” that contains a lesson that can be applied to everyone.
