Today we begin with a simple little story from a recent headline. A story we might aptly call “The Parable of the Dumbest Stunt Ever.” Or more to the point, “The Parable of What Never To Do When Driving!” Have I piqued your curiosity?
We know inexperienced drivers don’t always exhibit the best judgment. But I think this one takes the cake! So here goes … the headline reads: “Oregon driver who held his breath (and passed out) in tunnel faces criminal charges.” Can you imagine anything so — shall we politely say — “not smart?” According to the article, the 19-year-old driver crashed his car, injuring himself and three others after blacking out behind the wheel. As the headline suggests, this was due to the fact that he was holding his breath while driving.
