A little boy was trying to explain to a little girl the difference between a mother and a father. He thought about it for a while, then he said, “Daddies have big muscles and make money. Mommies take care of everybody and smell good.”

Coming from a little boy, that fairly well sums up the meaning of Christmas. The beauty and the glory of the Incarnation is that God, in Christ becomes present to us all — mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and relations — transforming the way we use our big muscles, the way we make our money, the way we take care of everybody, and even the way we smell good.
