In John’s Gospel it is written, “When Jesus spoke to the people, He said, ‘I am the Light of the World; anyone who follows Me will not be walking in the dark; he will have the light of life'” (Jn. 8:12).
During a young people’s Sunday School presentation, one little boy forgot his lines. His mother was sitting in the front row and when her son’s memory failed, she tried to help out. She caught his eye, and formed the forgotten words silently with her lips. But it didn’t help; the boy continued to draw a blank. Finally, she leaned forward and whispered the cue: “I am the Light of the World.” Whereupon, the child beamed, and with great feeling he said, in a voice loud and clear, “My mother is the light of the world.”
