After serving on a jury in a case involving fraud, one of the jurors wrote down an account of the trial as he saw it. It read, in part,
The prosecuting attorney made a two-hour opening statement. Then the defense attorney approached the jury box to deliver his opening statement. He was a rather brash young man whose hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, held together by a rubber band. When he neared the jury box, he raised his arm up and ripped off the rubber band. And as his shoulder-length locks descended, he said dramatically, “It’s time to let our hair down!” One could only hope that the attorney was not about to command, “Let’s get down to the bare facts, the naked truth!”
