If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to travel like a king, you’ll want to listen to this. . .
Earlier this year, Saudi Arabian ruler King Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud traveled to Indonesia as part of a month-long tour of Asia. And according to media reports, you might say “he arrived in style.”
Not willing to rely solely on the hospitality provided by his host countries, on arrival at his first destination, the King was lowered to the airport tarmac on his own jumbo jet equipped golden escalator. His entourage of some 1500 people, comprised of staff, delegates, princes, and ministers, were flown to accompany him on dozens of separate flights, transporting a whopping 500 tons of cargo including two Mercedes Benz limousines. And it seems the King requires more than your run-of-the-mill red carpet to get him moving because among his traveling essentials were two electric elevators. (Makes you wonder what he packs in his carry-on bag).
